Official Download and Fake Installer Safety

Use the official route

• Open the Big Walk official site first and follow its current platform links.
• Install through the platform store or client named by the official site, then verify the developer and publisher shown on the listing.
• Treat third-party pages offering a 'latest version archive', crack, repack, direct EXE, or password-protected ZIP as untrusted.
• Do not disable antivirus, SmartScreen, browser protection, or platform security to make a download run.

Warning signs in a fake package

• The archive contains a generic Setup.exe with no company, product version, or valid signature.
• The package uses an unrelated launcher framework or generic download interface instead of recognizable game files.
• Scripts inspect virtual machines, system hardware, running processes, registry keys, or security tools before launching.
• The installer writes random files to Temp or Downloads, removes Zone.Identifier, starts hidden command windows, or invokes PowerShell or MSBuild.

If you already ran an unknown installer

• Disconnect the device from the network and stop using it for account logins until it is checked.
• Run a Microsoft Defender Offline scan or another trusted rescue scan; a normal quick scan not finding anything is not proof of safety.
• From a separate trusted device, change important passwords and revoke active sessions if the unknown program ran.
• Keep the original file hash and download source for incident review, but do not send the executable to friends or upload it as a game mirror.
