Challenge skipping is a host setup choice

The official FAQ says the host can enable an option to skip any challenge when creating the session. Plan this before launch so nobody has to disclose a need in the middle of a group obstacle.

Text-chat path for players without voice

Text chat is built into the game, but the FAQ says it is affected by distance, walls, and communication tools like voice. Keep text users near the group for important planning rather than assuming every message is global.

  • Test text with every player before leaving the starting area.
  • Agree on a short regroup phrase and a visible meeting point.
  • Repeat important plans after regrouping when a message may have been out of range.
  • Use an agreed external fallback when access needs require it, while recognizing that it changes the intended communication challenge.

Camera and motion comfort

Field-of-view settings and the Motion Reduction Overlay are confirmed by the official FAQ. Exact labels and available values may differ by platform or version.

  • Adjust one comfort option at a time in a quiet area.
  • Test movement, camera turns, and communication before starting a challenge.
  • Combine comfort settings with lower graphics settings only when performance also needs attention.

Controls and interaction preferences

The official FAQ confirms remappable controls plus crosshair and hold/toggle options. It does not provide a platform-by-platform binding table in the material reviewed here.

  • Remap controls before the party leaves the starting area.
  • Check hold/toggle behavior for repeated or sustained actions.
  • Choose the crosshair option that supports comfortable aiming and pointing.
  • Record platform and controller type when reporting a missing binding.

Pre-session access check

  • Ask privately what each player needs before selecting the world version.
  • Have the host enable challenge skipping when requested.
  • Confirm remaps, FOV, motion overlay, crosshair, and hold/toggle preferences.
  • Test text and voice with the whole group nearby.
  • Choose an accessible regroup point and fallback channel.
  • Recheck settings after patches because names and defaults can change.
